INSTALLATIONS FOR THE
NEW POP CENTRE IN
OSLO collaboration with
Peder Torget

The sound creature is a quite large RFID installation for users to listen to, sit on, hug, and relax together with. It is an abstracted shape of a tail, where the body has half ventured into the wall. It will play back sounds and music as you feed it with bits and pieces of notes and sounds, represented by visually descriptive forms. Based on the combination of sounds you give it, the creature will combine them and intelligently compose music.

If sound were forms what would they look like? We facilitated workshops to find out how people
would shape different types of sound. Based on the workshops we created five sound shapes based
on five different sounds; strings, bass, vocal, clang and bricks.
